Pink Martini Baltimore reviews
Better than Ever!
I have been to a number of Pink Martini concerts in Chicago before at the Symphony Center, watched their Zoom concerts in 2020 for Christmas and New Year, saw Thomas Lauderdale perform with Meow Meow in Evanston, IL at the SPACE theater, I listen to their music regularly at home or in my Tesla, but this concert was the best EVER! I enjoyed all of the guest performers and the choice of numbers for the evening so much. Pink Martini has such a wide repertoire that I never feel as if I am hearing a repeat of a previous concert. They are also so interactive with the audience and really connect with us. Couples were dancing on one side of the theater - where there is an alcove with a statue on the Main Floor!
The sound was SO good and well balanced! I could hear every instrument and voice so well, the theater was more intimate than the Symphony Center. I sat on the Main Floor Row F420). It was just wonderful! (I saw Mark Knopler perform at the Chicago Theater and the base completely drowned out Knofpler's voice. I could not hear him! Saw Derek Hough perform "Live Tour" and it was TOO LOUD!) That is why I appreciate the perfect volume and sound balance of Pink Martini on October 20 so much.
A huge complaint that I have about concert venues in the US is the American culture of turning any concert into an eating and drinking FRENZY! It is very annoying when people keep getting up to buy drinks DURING the concert!!! It is up and down and in and out the entire time!!!! I have had alcohol spilled on my hair by people sitting behind me at the Chicago Theater! Surely, there is a better way to do things.
